hah, i feel so accomplished! for once in a long long while, i've actually done most of the stuff i'm supposed to do (a list is persistently glaring at me from the stickies i've posted on my computer screen - they're so pretty, i cant help looking at them) and my head feels so full of macroeconomics i feel like jeff borland. kinda unwanted feelings, but hey XD

i am soooo mad, never in my life have i seen so much proof of australian stupidity than right now - stupid australian olympic coverage is so damn biased i could seriously kick someone. I have no idea why even the commentators during matches, when Australia is seriously losing, say idiotic things like "this is indeed a stellar night for australian diving/boxing/bla bla bla" i have nothing against patriotism, but this is going way over the line. And everytime another country wins an event, Seven cuts off the part after the distribution of the medals where everyone stands up to honour the winner's national anthem. I wouldn't really be mad about it if they did it for everyone, but when Australians win, we undoubtedly have to hear the Australian national anthem over and over again.

I know this might seem extremely offensive. But I cannot fathom the unabashed bias demonstrated in every single minute of olympic programming channel seven puts on air. We don't even get to see badminton, or any of the asian martial arts events, because Australia isnt taking part in them. Thank god for SBS. How can Seven claim to provide full olympic coverage when the only events we get to see are those with Australians in them? To me, it is a disgustingly blatant disregard for the multiculturalistic nature of the Australian demographic.

Sigh.

that's why there's such a thing as Channel 9.. mind ya New Zealanders are p patriotic either but more in a negative critical way.. ask the All Blacks after last year's World Cup.. i've kinda been supplanted as a patriotic New Zealander so i'm gonna go for the Evers-Swendells for gold in rowing!! anyway Thorpey is the best.. go Australia! show those Americans! - dave

ian thorpe! he's amazing. he keeps with the pace in the beginning, but always doesn't use his full energy until the last 25 meters and then he beats the hell out of everyone! and phelps too 'rojak'... doing everything. should just concentrate on a few... but i'm rooting for alexander popov! they call him the great alexander popov... haha. because he's russian and all... used to be champion foor sprinting... he'll be swimming the 100m with ian thorpe and hoogenband and phelps i think... so watch out for him! thorpe may probably win, but there's no fun rooting for the one who's obviuosly going to win! so root for popov!
